Our company’s history
Chris Brothers is a Nova Scotia company with a proud tradition dating back more than thirty-five years. From 1967 through the late seventies Chris Kielbratowski operated one of the largest mixed farms in the Eastern Passage area of Nova Scotia Canada. His farm operation was complimented by a small meat processing operation specializing in unique European smoked meat products.
On November 21, 2005, the Chris Brothers recipes, trademarks and production were acquired by Bonté Foods, who now own the manufacturing rights. Bonté’s federal status and HACCP designation, along with their state-of-the-art cook- and smoke-houses, make them the ideal company to carry on the Chris Brothers tradition of quality deli meat products. Bonté Foods Limited now sells its products across Canada. The product list has grown to include donair meat products, pepperoni, salami, gyros, pita bread, bagels, donair & pizza sauce, and soups made right here in our federally inspected Dieppe, New Brunswick plant.
Bonté products of some form can be found in every retail grocery chain in Canada. Having recently undergone our fourth expansion, Bonté Foods employs over 150 people.
Here at Bonté, we are looking forward to an exciting future. Our new expansion of our freezer & bakery is a direct result of a successful drive to expand the sales base with new products. In particular, Bonté Donair Gyros meat cones and spiced meat loaves are a major part of the company's product line. Bonté Foods Limited is presently working on new and exciting products to meet the needs of a rapidly changing market place. We have earned our reputation by supplying quality products to the consumer, and continue our ongoing commitment to our valued customer.
Since it's inception, the primary focus of Chris Brothers has been to supply a unique selection of only the highest quality deli and fresh meats available. Perfection of our customer service being the ultimate goal, "Old world" knowledge has been blended with a warm and friendly atmosphere to ensure quality product and premium customer service are maintained.
We aim to captivate new and ever-changing clientele with heavy emphasis placed on customer needs in order to provide superior service and foster customer loyalty.
Chris Brothers’s pepperoni is now making it’s way across Canada! With federal certification the borders have opened spreading our unique pepperoni from Nova Scotia to British Columbia. Select retailers are now carrying Chris’ pepperoni in Western and Central Canada or visit our store on-line and place an order for your personal favourite.

Quality control & our warehouse
Besides being Federally Inspected, Bonté has an on site quality assurance lab for its own testing and R & D.
We have over 60,000 sq.ft. of newly expanded warehouse space including 7,800 sq. ft. (288,000 cu. ft.) of freezer space. With over 1,000 pallet spaces, Bonté's commitment to customers is matched by our commitment to growth.
